Umbra I

This print represents a strong play with light, shadow and colour.

Undulating layers of forest floor cast shadows in unpredictable patterns, makes way for an interesting interpretation of shape and form.

The trees themselves are based on silver birch, but like everything here, they take an imaginary approach to surface detail and colour use while demonstrating a life-like composition.

This series of prints marks a re-visit to some earlier work (circa 2016) but shows a development of style and a balanced use of of colour, each image being similar to the other, but presenting a different mood through subtle changes.
